Maintaining a healthy relationship and life long commitment with your partner can, at times be challenging.
Naturally when we engage in a long term relationship we will be faced with ongoing hurdles and challenges.  The key to making these relationships work is to make a strong commitment to facing and dealing with issues as they arise.
Relationships are demanding and command change, and in order for those relationships to survive one must change and grow with them.
There are many ways to improve a relationship including
Improving Communication
Learning how to deal with conflict respectfully
Learning how to live together whilst maintaining Individuality, Independence and Autonomy.
Counselling may assist couples to improve these skills.
Ending a relationship or getting a divorce is always the last resort and should only be considered when all other avenues have been exusted to address ongoing conflict.
Divorce is devastating and can take individuals and other family members years to get over the pain and trauma.
When a couple decide to divorce they are faced with many other issues including financial issues, property settlements and custody issues, 
and many individual issues pertaining to Grief and Loss.
Most people leave their relationships until they have already started to breakdown.  Consider this, we regularly maintain our motor vehicles to ensure they run smoothly, our relationships require the same amount of care and attention or 'fine tuning'.  If you have problems within your relationship consider counselling.
